Monet at Work - video, installation, movement, sound. The installation was created in response to the full length video that melds together the images of migrant field workers, the footage of workers at an archaeological site in Nippur, Iraq, and of Miriam Parker dancing as seen through the reflection of a swimming pool. The installation created pedestals walls to create frames and platforms. There was an exchange between having the film as the mover upon the canvas of wall or pedestal as the movers where creating a composition of stillness.
Monet at Work was presented at Clemente Soto Velez, New York as an immersive dance and performance piece featuring dancers Miriam Parker and Thea Little, and musicians William Parker and Rob Brown.
